The Role of The Rotary Foundation
The meeting began with a short Biography from Angus Langbein who told us about his life and his career as a Civil Engineer which had taken him to various parts of New Zealand.
The Guest speaker was our own Graeme Blick who is District Chair of The Rotary Foundation Committee.
Graeme spoke about The Rotary Foundation, explaining the system and how we could apply for funding to achieve more things. He promoted the Trust aspect of The Rotary Foundation, encouraging us to make it our Charity of choice.
Graeme Blick presented Past President Ron Lucas with two District Awards from the District Governor's Changeover a week earlier. These were awarded by District to the Rotary Club of Plimmerton, one for the Te Ara Piko Project and the other for raising the Public Image of Rotary.
At the next Club Meeting on Tuesday 8 July 2014 members of the Plimmerton Inner Wheel Club will join us.
The Guest Speaker will be Ria Earp, CEO of the Mary Potter Hospice.
