Inner Wheel logoLast year, breaking somewhat with tradition, the Inner Wheel Club of Plimmerton decided to hold a fundraising event that was both exciting and different.

A small team put together Wild Sunday which gave those attending a chance to try locally sourced wild food. Nothing scary nor anything that would make you shudder was on the menu card.

Featured were venison, rabbit, salmon, whitebait, goat with some being cooked while you watched. There were next to no empty plates and many tasted and enjoyed food they had never tried before.

Building on last year’s success the event is being repeated with some different wild food being available. The venue will be the same but it will be held in February when the weather is more like Wellington at its best.

Last year’s event raised money for the Ruby Red Trust which was set up to help a young girl beat Lyme Disease which she caught from a tick bite while holidaying in Australia. This year all the proceeds will be donated by the Inner Wheel Club to Ronald Macdonald House.

It is a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon while helping a very good cause. Last year tickets sold out quickly so mark your calendar and get your tickets before it is too late!  Wild Sunday Flyer 2014
