This is your opportunity to see the highly anticipated New Zealand Film, Daffodils, whilst, at the same time, supporting the purchase of two Emergency Response Kits.
Emergency Response Kits, or ERKs, are used as first-response survival kits in emergencies in the South Pacific Islands, can be carried by hand and provide essential items for immediate basic needs for people to be able to camp in their damaged homes whilst they get on with cleaning up and re-establishing themselves. The cost of each ERK is $700 and we hope that we will be able to purchase two with the funds raised at this event.
Daffodils is a bittersweet love story told with beautiful re-imaginings of iconic New Zealand songs. Based on a true story, this upbeat musical love story features the songs we grew up with, including some of the most iconic New Zealand songs ever written; tracks by Crowded House, LIPS, Bic Runga, Chris Knox, The Mint Chicks, Dave Dobbyn, The Clean, The Exponents, Darcy Clay, Mutton Birds, Th’Dudes, The Senators/Ray Columbus and the Invaders, The Swingers and Blam Blam Blam.
The film stars international Kiwi actors Rose McIver (iZombie, The Lovely Bones) and George Mason (Home & Away, Go Girls) alongside Grammy® Award-winning singer/songwriter Kimbra, in her big screen debut in a musical and acting role. All three lead roles returned home to New Zealand to star in this heart-aching drama of a quintessential New Zealand marriage, told with iconic New Zealand music.
The Light House Cinema in Pauatahanui seats 108 people. We hope you will join us to enjoy the movie and help people in need at the same time.
