This week was Committee Night with members attending their respective committee meetings.

District Governor’s Cluster Meeting. Our DG, Deb Gimblett, will join with the clubs of Wellington 3 Cluster for luncheon on Saturday 9 November 2013. The four clubs are Johnsonville, Tawa, Porirua Sundown and Plimmerton and the luncheon will be held in W.R. Phypers Lounge at the Porirua Club in Lodge Place from 12 noon to 2pm. Our Board will meet with DG Deb from 2.45 – 3.45 after the luncheon. This event is in place of the DG's visit to individual clubs. She will address us with her message for the year. Please give serious consideration to attending this event and, as in the past, it is a partner’s occasion. Numbers will be sought in the next week or two.

Tenders for the next section of Te Ara Piko (the Inlet Pathway) closed on Wednesday 16 October, with a meeting the following day to consider them. Further news will be available next week.

Pauatahanui Inlet Cleanup on Sunday 10 November. Angus Langbein is coordinating the helpers from our Club. A board will go around again next week.

Joy Allcock will be holding four training sessions from 3.30-7.30 pm in October and November to train the primary teachers around Porirua City in preparation for the Massey University initiative that will start in the first term of 2014. Wendy Betteridge has offered the assistance of our Club members to help with serving a meal at about 5.30 pm. We will be able to listen in to the wonderful wisdom being imparted.
