Rotary Club of Plimmerton
On Thursday, 13 August, President Adrienne presented our cheque for $2184 to Kiri Smith, the Principal of Natone Park school.
This was to pay for a data projector, which has been most professionally installed in the school hall.
The presentation was made at a school assembly attended by all the students (except for some older boys who were outside, enthusiastically washing the school bus).
Adrienne discussed with the students how the projector is to be used. They have plans for showing music and fitness videos and will be able to correspond with other schools, here and overseas, via Skype.
Most schools now have this sort of facility, and Natone Park were clearly very grateful for our grant. Principal Kiri expressed her thanks to Adrienne and the children gave us a big round of applause.
Before leaving, we were treated to a tour of the school and really enjoyed the colourful surroundings and the areas set aside for reading and play.
