Changeover to 2019-2020

At a glittering evening spent in the Grand Hall at Parliament to celebrate the end of a successful year and the exciting start of a new one, outgoing President Donna Reed covered the many successes and achievements that had occurred during her year which you can read about in Mike Doig's précis here. Throughout the proceedings, an excellent presentation of Donna's year, produced by Phillip Reidy, ran on the big screen.  Highlights_2018-2019  You can see the power point presentation that accompanied her speech, ably produced by Peter Sinke, here. 2018-2019_achievements

Following dinner, the Changeover occurred and President Euon Murrell presented outgoing President Donna with a well-deserved bouquet. After he had introduced his Board for the coming year, President Euon briefly explained the ways in which he expected his year to unfold and a few of the changes he would like to introduce. You can read some of the 'things you may not know about our new President here, as well as some of the things covered in his speech and captured by Mike Doig here.

Visitors

There were heaps of visitors, partners, guests and members of Inner Wheel - too many to mention but delightful to see.

This week's happenings

This is a special Changeover edition so a large number of 'happenings' that have occurred during the past week will move forward to next week's edition.

What's coming up in July and beyond?

On Tuesday 2 July we will have the first Planning Meetings of the year.

On Tuesday 9 July, Chris Durno will be talking to us about Z's strategy of meeting New Zealand energy and fuel needs and transition to a zero carbon world.

You can find all future events here.

Parting thought

In view of the political and very splendid venue in which we found ourselves for the Changeover celebration, Bruce Couch gave us a parting thought from Groucho Marx, 'Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies'.
